Online trading platform: The war is on
Brokerages in India are doing everything possible to woo their customers. In terms of investor population India is a poor country compared to rest of the world. Only Less than 2 percent of India’s population is investing in share market. Stock Exchanges and regulatory bodies are doing aggressive campaigns to attract more people towrds stock market investing. Like other sectors financial services sector also on it’s verge to boom in the recent future.
Except all odds India’s younger generation is very much interested in stock market investing. Brokerages are focusing them because not only they have money but they have more knowledge also. The youth in India now a days knows what they really require. Most of them are exposed to internet also. Every brokerage house finds it’s interesting and they are ready to offer online facilities to them.
The conventional method of offline trading (visiting or calling branch) is some what boring for the current generation. They prefer the easiness of online share trading. Hence the battle for online trading platform began and now it is in it’s infant stage. Recently two brokers came up with enhanced trading platforms and the war is on. Those are FLIP by Geojit BNP Paribas and Traderacer by ICICI direct. Being an online broker ICICI team advertising rigorously about Traderacer. It is expected that more and more brokers would come up with enhanced versions of trading platform.
Everyone wants to add more and more facilities to their platforms. Financial Technologies, pioneers in trading platform are well ahead the race and they are giving it on a commercial basis. Speed is the main issue regarding online platforms. All eyes are on the 3G auction. Better connectivity means investor happiness and more business. Reports say that the internet using population in India is increasing continuously. This gives green signal for brokerages. One can definitely say that the war for online trading platform is here to stay.
